Want to know more about Glenn Doman and his methods? Read the story of Glenn Doman and as the Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential (a non-profit organizations, educational programs and books to improve and accelerate the spiritual and physical development of children with normal and brain damage) lead to the discovery of the first learning.

Glenn Doman is a physiotherapist and a pioneer in the field of child brain development. In 1955 he founded theInstitutes for the Achievement of Human Potential (IAHP), a non-profit organizations, educational programs and books to improve and accelerate the spiritual and physical development of brain-injured and normal children.

The IAHP was originally to develop the capacity for brain-injured children through intensive programs of mental and physical stimuli. Since 1960, the courses offer IAHP to accelerate the development of the target normalChildren. The methods that relied on these courses are taught in many of the techniques used to help brain-injured children.

Doman's books are like your child to read (1964), as a child Math (1979) and Teaching How to Teach Your Child Physically Superb (1988) Teach. Doman's daughter Janet (Director IAHP) and son Douglas (Deputy Director) have helped in the literature. In 2006, Janet wrote (with Glenn) How smart is your baby? Develop and promote your child completePotential, Douglas wrote How to teach your child to swim from birth to six.

IAHP methods are centralized around the following beliefs:

Every child is a potential genius.
"Every child born has, at birth, greater potential intelligence of Leonardo da Vinci ever used." - Glenn Doman

Stimulation is the key to unlock the potential of a child.
"The world has on the growth and development of the brain seemed as if they were predestined and unchangeableFacts. We found that brain growth and development of a dynamic process. This is a process that no one (as it is of profound brain damage) can be. This is a process that can slow down (as it is due to moderate brain damage) can be, but most of all, this is a process that can be accelerated. "- Glenn Doman

The lessons should start at birth.
"The first year is critical. This is the time when the brain is growing explosively. The brain literally grows with the use- And if we use it, we grow. And if you do not use it, especially in the first 12 months, then you are literally losing brain cells - the brain will not have as much as you should. "- Janet Doman

The younger the child, the easier the learning process.
"Before the age of five, a child can easily absorb large amounts of information. If the child is younger than four simpler and more effective, three and even easier and more effectiveThe two. Simplest and most effective of all "- Glenn Doman

Children naturally love to learn.
"Children learn to eat better, children would learn to play, but in reality, is to learn to think of the children to play .." - Glenn Doman

Parents are the best teachers of their children.
"In the worst of the worst day with your child, you become your child to be the best teacher -. More than anyone else in the world on an average day, or the best time of your most special day, you are absolutelyspectacular - because you know your child better than anyone else. And only love your child - this is the perfect combination for a teacher. "- Janet Doman

Teaching and learning should be happy.
"Parents deserve the joy that comes from the teachings of experience of their child, and children have the right to appreciate the joy of learning with their parents." - Glenn Doman

Teaching and learning should not include the examination.
"One of the beauties of teaching is a child whothe process of teaching a pure process of giving information without asking why he came back. "- Janet Doman

METHOD
The reading and math programs are Doman flashcard-based. Classes meet three times a day, from the age of three months. The program includes a series of physical activities - from supporting children from birth to scanning, to develop their sense of balance for the education of children embers (through a horizontal scale, also known as a climbing frame). There is also a music program. From birth, parents teach their children to music appreciation, rhythm, reading music and perfect pitch. There is a book dedicated to the Doman program of music, but the details are available online and through courses organized by IAHP.
